Hello rock and metal fans!
I have shot several hundred thousand images in the past fifteen years and concentrate mainly on fine art, abstract, concert, and nature these days. In the past I shot a ton of football, cheer, fireworks, graffiti, animals, fish, and many other subjects. Over the years I have been lucky enough to have been published in some major publications, and for a period of time, I had a video display of some of my work in the Butler Institute of American Art located in Youngstown, Ohio.
While I use Sony gear as well as some old Minolta glass to shoot most of my subjects, that is not what I used to shoot the photos on DonP.Rocks. All of the images you see on this site were shot with inexpensive cameras that will fit in your pocket.
While nu-metal and alternative metal are probably my favorite genres, I enjoy almost all forms of hard rock and heavy metal. Korn, Godsmack, Metallica, Rob Zombie, Marylin Manson and Chevelle are some of my favorites just to name a few. While you may not find a lot of the traditional pit style shots on this site, you will see the concerts as most metal and rock fans see them. While the front row or the pit is the place to be for many fans, the majority of music lovers never get that close to the stage, unfortunately.
As time progresses I will eventually have a couple thousand shots or more on here, including a ton of crowd surfing shots and other stuff as lately I find myself shooting more and more of of the craziness that goes on a live metal shows along with the bands. I want to thank all of the artists that make great rock and metal and continue to tour as live shows are most certainly my number one entertainment enjoyment.
Long live metal and rock and roll.
Regards,
-Don P.
